The ETX-P1 (Embedded Technology eXtended) is an extreme compact Intel® Pentium® MMX™ based PC module with consistent low power design. The low power Intel® Pentium® processor allows the usage of the board without active cooling in applications, where space limitations (the maximum height without heat sink is only 10 mm!) are
major requirements. It is now possible to create modular systems, combining exchangeable CPU performance with
baseboards, carrying only the connectors and additional functions needed. This reduces development costs and
speeds up application design. Despite the very little board dimensions, the ETX-P1 offers all standard interfaces such
as sound, Ethernet, USB and high speed AGP graphic. The SoundBlaster™ compatible soundchip is supported by most
operating systems. For networking purposes the ETX-P1 comes with a 10/100 MBit Ethernet controller which
allows an easy Intranet/Internet access. Total connectivity is guaranteed by the huge amount of communication
interfaces like 2 serial TTL ports, an EPP/ECP parallel port, 2 USB ports and the 10/100 MBit Ethernet. The ATI™ Rage
mobility AGP video controller operates CRT monitors as well as LVDS LCD panels. With its internal 4 MByte video RAM,
resolutions up to 1600x1200 with high color depth can be displayed.
You‘re looking for a secure and EMI tolerant boot medium? As on option a 8 MByte IDE compatible
Flash-Disk is already integrated on the module! For further expansions two IDE ports with Ultra33 DMA capabilities are
available on the SMT bus connectors. They do not provide the PCI bus only, the ISA bus signals are also available. A
lot of existing ISA boards can still be used via an ISA slot on a baseboard. This avoids expensive redesigns of well proven ISA cards to PCI versions for standard PC motherboards.
